Walked to our ground hornbill nest to meet Quintin, the man in charge of the Ground Hornbill Research Program. We assisted him in holding a ground hornbill so he could take blood, measure his legs, feathers and beak. It was a really great learning opportunity and very interesting. That afternoon, we saw 2 elephant bulls playing in the mud, a buffalo bull head coming out behind the reeds in the riverbed, a big elephant herd with lots of young calves, black backed jackal, blue wildebeest, impala and zebra on the airstrip. We saw 2 juvenile fish eagles at the dam. We saw more elephant crossing the road, kudu together around a tree and steenbokkie with a youngster. .
