As a normal tourist participating in a traditional safari, the experience would consist of a broad overview of facts regarding the environment and it's Big5 game.
Edutourism, however, employs the act of giving insight into different species and how they each interact with the ecology of the environment. It further looks at how to study these aspects of the environment and how it can be of benefit from the tourist industry,
Ranger Training Experience 30days - Inclusive of flights and transfers R35 000.00
This experience is ideal for conservationists and adventurers alike. It combines a practical education along with conservation and management.
The ranger training experience allows students to participate in the ecological programmes in which Tsakane are involved in. The interpreted data resulting from sampling and monitoring activities are then recorded, and sent off for analysis and logging.
This course is split down to three modules:
Day 1 -10 Students will be doing the following:
Geology & Soil, climate & weather,Vegetation, Wildlife, Ecology & Biodiversity, Field Trip - Drakinsberg hike & A Field Trip to Reptile park
Day 11 - 20 Students will be doing the following:
Letabla Elephant Museum, Biodiversity, Crooks Corner & Confluence (RSA, Zimbabwe & Mozambique),
Waterhole ecology, River ecology, Social conservation, Hike, Heritage Museum, Confluence & Mashatu Game Reserve.
Day 21 - 31 Students will be doing the following:
Nata Bird Santurary, Rest Day, Moremi - Okovanga Delta, Kalahari Desert, Okovanga River Cruise, Caprivi Strip, Kwando River, Chobe Game Reserve, Chobe River Cruise or Victoria Falls (optional), and then your flight home from Maun.
Included: All meals, activities, professional facilitation, entrance fees and conservation levies and Tsakane Uniform.
